Happy Family Guesthouse ThuyAn Homestay Vinh Long is a great host, really helpful and friendly, he planned our day and took us discovering Mekong river and its floating market. Happy family guesthouse is a nice and wild place on a wonderful island where you can have whatever you need pool table, swimming pool, bbq, restaurant on the river whit delicious food. I visited Happy Family in January and it was a highlight of my Vietnam trip.
The scenery was lovely, the rooms were clean and inexpensive, and I really felt welcomed by Thuyen and family. We did have a hard time getting there, but aside from that everything was wonderful! We enjoyed relaxing on the patio by the Mekong, we even went swimming in the Mekong from the riverfront cabin, and we loved all the fresh fruit with every meal. Meals were delicious; Thuyen's brother is a great cook and excellent market guide.
If you want to experience the slow pace of Mekong life, connect with very friendly people, and see what makes Vietnam so special I would definitely recommend Happy Family.
Cheap, clean and welcoming stay - Tong homestay brother spoke very good English. He organized a morning tour to Mekong floating markets, land markets, coconut candy factory and honey factory for , dong pp. Food was delicious - Happy family pancake highly recommended.
Great location - dinner area and hammocks on decking overlooking the Mekong Delta The only downside to our stay was the trouble of getting there; we caught a local bus to Dong Phu bus driver didn't want to drive all the way to dong phu so we were told to get off the bus and get on his mates motorbike to dong phu bus station.
